“Hey Rod.....we can't find Yeast anywhere. How do you make bread without Yeast?”
“Well you can make your own yeast by using some fruit, sugar & water. Use 4 tablespoons of fresh or dried fruit like apple, oranges or raisins. 2 tablespoons of sugar & 8 oz of filtered water. (Chlorine kills yeast) Place your fruit in the bottom of a clean sterilized 24 oz jar. Then add your sugar and fill the jar ¾ full of filtered water. Loosely cover the jar allowing air to escape. Place at room temperature and let it sit for a few days. Once you see bubbles forming at the top of the jar and you start to smell a wine like odor coming from it, your yeast is finished fermenting & is ready to use. Store this in the fridge & use as needed. This kind of yeast is much, much healthier for you than most store bought yeast, so this would be the perfect time to switch.”
