"Hey Rod..... if the sun controls everything, how does it control summer and winter?"
"Well the sun doesn't control the seasons, that's the earth's job. The sun does not move, the earth does and in the summer, the sun's rays are more direct to the earth than the slanting rays of the winter. So when the north pole tilts towards the sun, it is summer in the Northern Hemisphere, and winter in the Southern Hemisphere. When the South Pole tilts towards the sun it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere and winter in the Northern Hemisphere. This process takes 12 months to complete a total change over. Sometimes the sun is very kind to us in the winter, so talk nice."
