"Hey Rod.....what's a good portable bed that you can pack in a backpack?"

"The best portable bed would be a hammock. If you learn how to make a fishing net, you can also make a hammock using the same technique. The other useful thing is that the hammock can be used as a fishing net in a survival situation. It can be rolled up making it very compact. When you want to set it up as a hammock, just cut a couple of heavy branches to tie each end with. Getting into the hammock can get a little tricky, depending on the thickness of the material you use to make the net with. The lighter the material, the harder it is going to be, so pick something that will support your weight but still be flexible enough to use as a fishing net. Below is an illustration of how a net is tied together. Do not use slip knots, or during the night, you may find your ass on the ground."
