"Hey Rod.....is there any other indications of changing weather?"
"There are a few other indicators. If you see a halo around the moon or the sun, this usually means the first warning of an approaching warm air front with a long steady siege of rain or snow. A low pressure system usually brings rain or snow depending on the time of the year. A good indicator of low pressure systems coming in are, smoke will hover and go downward, swallows and bats will fly close to the ground, odours will rise from ditches and marches, hair will go limp (because of the higher humidity), clouds will form at lower altitudes and distant objects will seem to be nearer because the usual evaporation haze is missing. So if you're out in the wilderness, watch for some of these signs and get yourself prepared or get your butt out of there as soon as you can."
