"Hey Rod.....When I go off grid, what would be the best source of electrical power?"

"All depends on your budget. For a very low budget you'd go with 12 volt power. You'd just need a couple of deep cycle 6 volt batteries hooked in series, and a good charging source. There are a lot of 12 volt items that can be had, just go to a large RV dealer and see what's available. Your other options are solar, wind or a turbine generator if you have a stream nearby. All of these are going to be more expensive, especially with the storage, other than the turbine generator. If you have enough head to run a 10 KW generator, you'd have enough power to be very comfortable. Depending on your wants and needs, you could get by with something half that size. They all have their pro's and con's. Solar needs sun, wind turbines needs wind and a turbine generator needs a year round water flow to be really efficient, so what you use would depend a lot on where you live."
