"Hey Rod..... I'm looking for that other sore throat medicine."
"I've got you covered. To make this syrup you're going to need a pint sized jar with a lid, one large onion and some honey. Peel your onion. Slice it into rounds (which will fit into your jar.) Now layer the onion and honey in the jar. When the jar is full, cover it and set it at room temperature for 6-8 hours until a syrup forms. When it's ready to use, simply eat a spoonful of this syrup as needed to soothe your cough and throat. Store in the refrigerator. You can strain out the onions once the syrup is done if you want, but it is not necessary.
Here's another one I found, 2 cups water, 1 cup raw honey & 3 tbsp dried thyme.
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add the thyme. Cover and leave for 10 minutes. Strain. Whisk in the honey until it is dissolved. Transfer in a glass jar with a lid and store in a refrigerator. Take 1 or 2 tsp. as needed for either of these syrups. These can last for 2 months or so if stored properly. When using honey, try to buy local as it will be more suited to what your environment is used too, especially if it's allergies that are causing your sore throat and runny nose."
