“Hey Rod.....it's hunting season, are there any uses for deer antlers?"


“Yes there is, deer antlers make very good handles, and not just for knives. I've used them on drawers and doors. Used them for coat hangers and a gun rack. (That's before we had to lock them up) If you saw them about ¼” thick and drill a couple of small holes in them, you can use them as buttons for a shirt or jacket. People have made all kinds of crafts like cribbage boards, jewelry stands and chandeliers from deer antlers. I've even heard of people boiling the antlers to make gelatin to use in canning fruit. If you have a dog, cut up antlers also make a good chewing treat. All you need now is to find a nice buck and get to work.”
