“Hey Rod......what can I make from bones?”

“First thought is ….soup. But I bet you're asking about tools and weapons, and there are lots. Small bones can be used for fish hooks, arrowheads, as buttons and needles. Larger bones make good eating utensils, knives, fleshing tools, shovels, plates, pegs and a weapon, (like the jaw bone.) A lot of this depends on the size of the animal, your not going to make much of a shovel out of a squirrel carcass, but the hip bone from a larger animal would work just fine. Some times you'll have to break the bone up using rocks and then form the shape you're looking for using sharp and course rocks or sand, here again, depending what's available to you at the time.”
